How to turn an IDEA into REALITY!

Ever had a design idea but no clue where to start or how to implement it?

1. Start off by sketching whatever ideas come to mind, this will really help you pick what form you want to go for and what would be appealing and look interesting.

2. If you’re still struggling with finalizing a shape or making a decision, try the following:

- Hop on Pinterest for a little inspiration

- Visit places around the city

- Ask other designers for advice or tips

3. After sketching out your final form, start looking into a what materials you’ll use for your creation, it’s important to choose a suitable material / type of material especially when dealing with natural materials like wood and marble, as each type has its own advantages. you can do so by doing the following:

- Research what materials are commonly used for similar products

- Create a material board

As for the color scheme of your design, don’t be scared, play with patterns and bold colors and remember you’re trying to create something original & to portray who you are as a designer.

4. After selecting the appropriate materials and colors, start to create the final draft of your design by drawing it on a designated design software such as AutoCAD.

5. Keep in mind, these drawings will be handed to an interior fit-out and joinery company, like CARVE, that will implement your design, so make sure to write down all the necessary information they usually require like:

- Views

- Materials of each part

- Color of each material

(3D renders would be helpful but not necessary) And there you have it!
